Business Dashboards & Reporting

Finally know your numbers without building pivot tables.

Most businesses can’t answer basic questions at a glance: how many quotes are out? Which jobs are behind? What’s actually profitable? Business dashboards pull the data out of your systems and show it live — pipeline, jobs, costs, margins, KPIs — in a view you can read in ten seconds, not an afternoon.

Business dashboards Reporting dashboards KPI reporting Pipeline visibility Management reports

Being busy isn’t the same as being in control. Most owners can tell you what they did today, but can’t tell you what the pipeline looks like, which jobs are losing money, or how many quotes converted last month. That information exists — it’s scattered across the CRM, the job system, the spreadsheets and the invoicing tool. A business dashboard brings it together in one live view, so decisions are based on what’s actually happening, not what you remember.

What is a business dashboard?

A business dashboard is a single screen that pulls the numbers you care about out of your systems — CRM, job management, accounting, spreadsheets — and shows them together. Instead of opening five tools to answer one question, you open one view. It isn’t a report you run when you remember to; it’s a live picture of the business you can read in seconds, any time you need to.

Sound familiar?

  • Do you only see how the business is doing at month-end, when it’s too late to react?
  • Are the numbers locked in spreadsheets only you can read?
  • Can you say which jobs are profitable, which quotes are stuck and what’s in the pipeline — without a lot of digging?
  • Are decisions made on what you remember, rather than what’s actually happening?

What we build

📈

Sales pipeline dashboards

Live view of enquiries, quotes and pipeline value — who’s following up, what’s at risk and where it’s all getting stuck.

💼

Job & margin dashboards

Jobs in progress, completion status, costs against quotes and real margins — so you stop finding out too late.

📊

KPI dashboards

The handful of numbers that matter to your business, updated live — conversion, response time, utilisation, debtors.

📤

Data into dashboards

We connect your existing systems (or spreadsheets) to the dashboard, so it’s accurate and stays accurate — see integration.

🚀

Management reporting

Automated weekly or monthly reports for you, your team and your board — no more Friday-afternoon reporting marathons.

🔖

Decision dashboards

A dashboard designed around a specific decision — should we hire, buy that kit, take on that contract? — answering it with data.

What could your dashboard actually show?

Dashboards work when they start with the questions you ask, not the charts that look good. A typical build starts with the noisy data and ends with a decision you couldn’t make before:

Your systemsCRM, job management, accounting or spreadsheets
Data connectedPulled together accurately and kept current
KPIs builtOnly the numbers that drive decisions
Read in secondsPipeline, margins, debtors at a glance
Decision madeBased on what’s happening, not memory

What we provide

We’re a digital consultancy, not a chart vendor. We don’t start with a dashboard product and try to bolt it on. We start with the questions you actually need answered, then build the simplest thing that answers them:

  • Data audit & KPI definition — we look at what you currently measure, what you don’t, and pin down the handful of numbers that would genuinely change decisions.
  • Dashboard design — a dashboard designed around how you run the business — not a wall of charts. We’ll also tell you honestly when a monthly report would do the job instead.
  • Data connections — we connect your existing systems (or spreadsheets) so the dashboard stays accurate, using integration where systems need connecting.
  • Dashboard build — we build the dashboard itself, configured to your data and your team, on a platform you own.
  • Validation & handover — we check the numbers against reality before launch, then make sure your team actually uses it.
  • Ongoing support — as your systems and questions change, the dashboard changes with them.

Dashboards vs doing it by hand

If a spreadsheet works for you and the questions never change, you probably don’t need a dashboard. If you’re spending an afternoon rebuilding the same report every month — or logging into six systems to piece together what the business is doing — the comparison looks different:

TaskManual reportingBusiness dashboard
See the whole business in one placeLog into six systems, then rebuild the picture✓ One connected screen, live
Answer “what’s in the pipeline?”Dig through systems and rebuild✓ Read in seconds
Spot a struggling job earlyFound out at month-end✓ Visible as it happens
Check profitabilityAfternoon of pivot tables✓ At a glance
See trends & analyticsRebuild the same analysis from scratch✓ Trends on current data
Trust the numbersDifferent sources, different answers✓ One connected source
Share with the teamEmail the spreadsheet around✓ Everyone sees the same view

When a monthly report genuinely would be enough, we’ll tell you — and probably build you that instead. A dashboard earns its place when the questions come up every week, not once a month.

Why dashboards fail

Most people’s experience of dashboards is a pretty chart nobody opens after day three. They fail for three reasons, and we’re upfront about all of them:

  • They show vanity metrics. Numbers that look good but change nothing. We build around decisions, not decoration.
  • They’re a snapshot of stale data. If it isn’t live and connected to your real systems, it goes out of date and gets ignored.
  • They’re built by people who don’t run the business. We ask what you’d actually decide with the information before designing anything.

If the honest answer is that you don’t need one — or that a monthly report would do — we’ll say so. That’s the consultancy part.

“I don’t know what’s happening with the business this week” shouldn’t be a real sentence.
